Jerusalem Sabbatical

I originally created my blog to post my reflections on my sabbatical experience in Jerusalem in 2006. I have also used it to post my thoughts and ideas about being a church for the next generation. Now I hope to use it to blog about my third time in Israel, volunteering with Bridges for Peace!

I'm thinking alot about Jerusalem today. My pastor, Bruce Metcalf, and his wife, Kris, have been there for the past five weeks studying as part of his sabbatical, and I have been VERY jealous of them! They have even been living inside the Old City itself! My old neighborhood... I have been emailing back and forth with a number of friends and co-workers from "Bridges," and two nights ago I chatted with Larry and Mary Bennett, who are home from Uganda and at their place in Montana. Today I read "Jerusalem Dispatch" as I ate my lunch, and I just viewed a DVD about the school for Messianic children, Mekor Hatikva.

And so my heart is turned toward the Holy Land, and the Holy City itself. I am missing it very much. When can I return?
