Jerusalem Sabbatical

I originally created my blog to post my reflections on my sabbatical experience in Jerusalem in 2006. I have also used it to post my thoughts and ideas about being a church for the next generation. Now I hope to use it to blog about my third time in Israel, volunteering with Bridges for Peace!

It's coming up fast: my return to Jerusalem, and my home repair work with "Bridges For Peace." Today I talked with my friends and co-workers from Montana who are also going back, Larry and Mary Bennett, and it was fun to plan and share our excitement together. They arrive on Feb. 2 and I arrive early on Feb. 3. Today I also got an email from Expedia saying British Airways has a possible strike by some of the company's employees during the time of my travel and I might need to make other flight arrangements. However, the dates they listed don't fall on my travel dates, so I'm going to wait a few days before I contact Expedia and figure out something different.

I don't know what kind of internet access I will have on this trip to Israel so I can't say if my blog will be active during my time in Jerusalem. If I can do it easily, I'll include weekly updates again--and of course a ton of photos to give all of you a better glimpse of my life and work in Israel. For now--

Shalom from Hilmar!
