Jerusalem Sabbatical

I originally created my blog to post my reflections on my sabbatical experience in Jerusalem in 2006. I have also used it to post my thoughts and ideas about being a church for the next generation. Now I hope to use it to blog about my third time in Israel, volunteering with Bridges for Peace!

Photos: 1-2: me cutting the steel lamps that surrounded the rooftop balcony at En Kerem. 3: me carrying a piece of the marble “triclinium” (3-sided) table that we had to smash with sledge hammers to remove from the biblical dinner room. Fortunately, five of us from the home repair team worked together to remove the marble--and dumped it in the tomb, which became our “landfill” hole! 4: me prying the nails out of the wooden poles we salvaged from all over En Kerem to be used for re-building at headquarters. 5: me carrying large beam supports from the arbors.
