Jerusalem Sabbatical

I originally created my blog to post my reflections on my sabbatical experience in Jerusalem in 2006. I have also used it to post my thoughts and ideas about being a church for the next generation. Now I hope to use it to blog about my third time in Israel, volunteering with Bridges for Peace!

Photos: 1-2: home repair team barbecue at En Kerem! James, my South African supervisor, loves to barbecue--especially pork (very un-kosher!)--and he felt we deserved a barbecue lunch in the gorgeous setting of En Kerem after all the hard work we were doing to tear down the place. We even had red Israeli wine with our meal! From l. to r. it’s Me, Robbie (New Zealand), James, Larry (Montana), Bob (South Africa), Daniel (Florida) 3: me stacking the poles we delivered to headquarters. 4: James and Larry cutting down the large beam supports next to the biblical tomb that became our “landfill” hole! 5: me cutting metal plates for use when installing handrails for elderly Jewish apartment residents.
