I originally created my blog to post my reflections on my sabbatical experience in Jerusalem in 2006. I have also used it to post my thoughts and ideas about being a church for the next generation. Now I hope to use it to blog about my third time in Israel, volunteering with Bridges for Peace!
"Our relationship with ourselves." On Monday, this focus topic addressed the many ways we allow other people, ideas, the media, preconceptions, and even our own self-image to dictate who we are.
"Feed My Starving Children," a ministry from Minnesota. Our group packed food packages for 90 minutes on Wednesday afternoon, enough to feed 126 children every day for one year!

In June of 2015, I will have served Hilmar Covenant Church for 35 years! During this time I have had a number of job titles: Minister of Music, Associate Pastor, Worship Arts Pastor, with other less official references as well. In January 2012, a major change happened in my ministry when I ended my role as weekly worship pastor. After 31 1/2 years, I was ready for a change - and the church was willing to change with me! Now I have responsibity for congregational care and assimilation, missions (both local and global), spiritual formation (prayer, discipleship), and ministries of compassion, mercy, and justice. It's been rejuvenating, and I'm just as excited about ministry now as I was when I first came to Hilmar in 1980.
